Auto and work injury rehab in Midland.

The crash was weeks ago and your neck still runs your day. We document what is actually wrong, then build the plan that gets you back to work and back to normal.

Sound Familiar?

Does this sound like you?

  • You back the truck out by turning your whole body, because your neck will not turn.
  • You told everyone at the job site you were fine, then iced it at home in the dark.
  • The claim wants a return-to-work date and nobody has told you what is actually wrong.
  • By lunch your hard hat weighs more than your whole tool bag did at 7am.
  • You have lifted that same load a thousand times, and this once it did not let go.
  • Every pothole on the drive in tells you the wreck is not behind you yet.

Why It Happens

The wreck is over. The injury is not.

A crash loads your body faster than your muscles can brace. Small joints and ligaments get pushed past where they normally live. Everything around them clamps down to protect the area, and adrenaline hides most of that for a day or two. Work injuries do the same thing in slow motion. One lift, one twist, one shift too many, and the tissue gives at its weakest link.

Then the protecting becomes the problem. Stiff segments quit sharing the load. Tissue heals in the shortened position you held it in. The muscles that should be guarding you have already gone quiet. That is why an X-ray that reads normal and a week of rest so rarely settle it. A cause-first evaluation sorts out which of those is driving your pain now, so the plan goes after the root of it instead of the loudest spot.

The Honest Truth

Waiting it out is not the same as healing it.

If you keep waiting

  • You go back to the same job with the same weak link, and it gives out again
  • Sleep turns into a negotiation: which side, which pillow, how many hours
  • The written record of what the crash did to you stays as thin as the day nobody checked

If you start this week

  • Visit one ends with a clear, written picture of what is actually injured
  • Hands-on work starts on the guarding before you leave the building
  • You get a plan with an endpoint, so you know what is left before you are back on the job

Nobody regrets starting too early.

How We Fix It

Four phases. One plan the whole way back.

You drove yourself home from it and clocked in the next morning. Here is what the four phases look like for an injury like that, one-on-one with a licensed physical therapist, every visit.

Starts visit one

Pain

Unclench the guarding.

Manual therapy, dry needling and cupping settle the muscles that locked down to protect you, so you can turn your head and sleep through the night again.

Once the pain settles

Prime

Get the stiff parts moving.

Spinal manipulation and instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization free up the segments that stopped sharing the load, so healing tissue stops getting pulled on.

Once it moves freely again

Perform

Load it like the job does.

Strength work rebuilds the weak link under real weight: lifting off the floor, reaching overhead, twisting with something heavy in your hands.

Before you are cleared

Prevent

Back on the job, and staying there.

We test the exact movement that hurt you, loaded, before you are cleared for it. That is the endpoint, not another appointment.

Started seeing Jordan after a car accident in February. He is so different than other PT’s I have had. He is so thorough and kind, I never feel rushed in his office. He always takes the time to listen and will explain why I am feeling the way I am and different exercises that could help. I always leave his office feeling so much better than when I went in.

Before: a car accident, and no clear picture of what it had done

Now: leaves every visit knowing why she feels the way she feels

Questions, Answered

What people ask before booking after a crash or a work injury.

Usually not, and it is rarely the first step. A clear X-ray rules out a break. It does not explain why your neck still runs your day three weeks later. Scans of people with no pain at all routinely show bulges and wear and tear, so a picture does not always name the cause. We start with a hands-on evaluation of how you move right now, and if imaging turns out to be necessary we will help you get it. You also do not need a physician referral in Texas to be evaluated by a physical therapist, so nothing has to be scheduled ahead of this.

In most cases the right movement heals faster than rest does. Hurt does not always mean harm, and tissue that never gets loaded stays stiff and weak. That is how people re-injure the same spot on their first shift back. What matters is how much load, in what order, for your injury. The evaluation sets that, and you work one-on-one with a licensed physical therapist, every visit, so it gets adjusted while you are in the room instead of two weeks later.

That depends on what we find and how long you have been carrying it, so we are not going to guess before we look at you. What you get either way is a plan with an endpoint. The four phases, Pain, Prime, Perform and Prevent, each have a job and a way to know you have finished it, so you always know which one you are in and what is left. If the real question is cost, ask for the free benefits check. We are in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, 90 Degree Benefit, UMR and Curative, and we will tell you what your plan covers before you commit to anything.
